With the aim of strengthening export competitiveness and the investment climate, the Rediex team made a technical visit to the facilities of Van Hessen Paraguay SA in the city of Limpio, within the framework of supporting companies that invest and export from the country.

During the meeting, a gathering was held with Harald van Boxtel, CEO of Van Hessen, and company executives, with the participation of representatives from SENACSA, who discussed the progress of the plant and the prospects for future growth.

Van Hessen has been operating in the country since 2018 and celebrated the expansion of its facilities in October 2024, with a special inauguration ceremony attended by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Javier Giménez, who highlighted Paraguay's potential as an investment destination.

Currently, Van Hessen Paraguay operates under the pure maquila regime, exporting 100% of its production to markets such as Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, the European Union, the United States and, starting in January, Bolivia.

In 2025, the company tripled its production, reached 100% of its operational capacity, and consolidated a team of over 350 employees, positioning itself as a key player in the export industry. The CEO expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in Paraguay and acknowledged being “extremely happy with the quality and availability” of the local workforce.

During the meeting, Van Boxtel shared the possibility of planning the construction of a second plant in the country, reaffirming the company's confidence in the national production environment and in the institutional support provided by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, through Rediex, and the National Council of Export Maquiladora Industries (CNIME).

Founded in 1902 and headquartered in the Netherlands, Van Hessen is a world leader in the natural casing sector, with operations in 27 countries. The company is part of the German SARIA Group, a conglomerate that also includes Devro and Bioiberica, leading companies in the manufacture of animal-based products for the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Van Hessen's presence in Paraguay exemplifies the country's potential to attract high-impact investments and strengthen its international standing.
