Tommi Mäkinen is a legendary Finnish rally driver. He debuted in 1985 and quickly rose to prominence in the World Rally Championship (WRC). His first world victory came in 1994 at the Rally Finland in a Ford Escort RS Cosworth. In the mid-90s, he reached his peak as a factory driver for Mitsubishi. Driving the iconic Lancer Evolution, he won four consecutive world titles (1996–1999). He racked up a total of 24 WRC victories, establishing himself as one of the most successful in history. He is renowned for his precise style and ability to master demanding surfaces. He retired in 2003, farewell with a podium finish in his final race. He later became a team principal and continued to rack up victories, achieving crowns both as a driver and team principal in the World Rally Championship.
