The business meeting is taking place as a result of the trade missions promoted by President Santiago Peña, which strengthened ties with the Finnish business sector and allowed progress towards investment and cooperation opportunities in strategic sectors of the national economy.
During the event, the Deputy Minister of Industry, Javier Viveros, presented to Finnish businesspeople the commercial opportunities offered by Paraguay, as well as the economic incentives available for investment and the country's export potential.
In his presentation, the deputy minister highlighted Paraguay's competitive advantages for industrial development, including macroeconomic stability, the availability of natural resources, competitive energy, and the incentive framework aimed at attracting foreign capital.

He also explained the scope of the Paraguay 2X strategy, an economic development roadmap that aims to double the country's growth by 2035 by boosting sectors with high productive and export potential. According to him, this strategy identifies key areas where Paraguay can compete more effectively in international markets by promoting investment in industry, technological innovation, and adding value to raw materials.
The business meeting was led by Rediex, Business Finland and the Embassy of Finland in Paraguay, with the aim of generating alliances in sectors such as renewable energy, technological innovation, forestry industry and infrastructure.

Successful outcome
It is worth recalling that President Santiago Peña made an official visit to Finland in July 2025, accompanied by representatives from the Paraguayan public and private sectors. As a result of this international agenda, contacts were intensified with Finnish companies and institutions interested in exploring investment opportunities in Paraguay.
The business mission currently visiting the country is the first Finnish delegation of its kind, reflecting a renewed interest in strengthening economic and trade relations between Paraguay and Finland. National authorities, business associations, and representatives of the Paraguayan private sector also participated in the visit.
