With more than 7.600 new companies registered, USD 504 million in projected investments and more than 1.000 expressions of interest from foreign companies, the country reaffirms its attractiveness as a destination for business and industrial development.
The year 2024 stood out for its dynamism in the arrival of new investments within the national territory and the increase in exported national manufactures. Paraguay also managed to position itself in the international spotlight, attracting the attention of more foreign entrepreneurs.
According to official data from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), last year a total of 1.051 foreign companies expressed interest in the country, with investment intentions.
It is worth mentioning that these numbers are the result of missions carried out by the State authorities, with a view to publicizing the benefits that Paraguay offers for the landing of investments and thus generating more jobs.
Exports and investments
Undoubtedly, last year the special regimes were key players in attracting investments, with the incentives of Law 60/90 and Maquila standing out, which totaled investments worth USD 514 million.
The report from the Vice Ministry of Industry indicates that the number of companies with projects approved under Law 60/90 was 135, while investments totaled USD 411 million and projected jobs reached a figure of 5.956 positions, being a record in the last 20 years of positions linked to this incentive.
For its part, the Maquila regime approved some 36 projects in 2024, which amounted to USD 103 million in investments and projected some 2.054 jobs in the country. It is important to mention that this incentive reached historic numbers in its exports, exceeding USD 1.100 billion of Paraguayan manufactured products sent to the international market.
Among the sectors particularly served by Rediex, during 2024 exports amounted to USD 3574 million, which represents an increase of 9,1% compared to 2023. This reflects the positive impact of the sectors served, in a context marked by difficult climatic and commercial factors.
Opening a business
In 2024, the number of companies opening was also notable, reaching a total of 7.666. Of this amount, the presence of companies opened under the EAS (Simplified Joint Stock Companies) modality stands out, reaching 5.926.
This tool, implemented in the country since 2021, has become one of the most popular among investors when it comes to landing their capital in Paraguay, due to its speed and ease.
Likewise, there were 1.402 open public limited companies, while there were 322 limited liability companies, while about 16 were opened under another type of legal entity.
