The Commercial Attaché of Paraguay in Spain, Natalia Cáceres, made an official visit to the Port of Gijón, accompanied by the Honorary Consul in Asturias, Javier Márquez, where they toured the facilities of the company Marítima del Principado, a recognized firm in the logistics-shipping sector with extensive experience in river transport.
During the meeting, Paraguayan authorities presented to company executives the main competitive advantages that Paraguay offers as a strategic hub for river integration in the heart of South America. In this context, they highlighted the key role of the Paraguay-Paraná Waterway, considered a fundamental route for the country's efficient connection to regional and international markets.
Also analyzed were emerging opportunities linked to the Bioceanic Corridor, a large-scale project that will connect the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, with the aim of boosting trade and significantly reducing logistics costs in the region.
“Strengthening ties with companies in this sector is strategic for attracting more investment, incorporating new technologies, and improving Paraguay’s logistical competitiveness. In this sense, we seek to promote the country as an efficient and strategic platform for international trade,” the Commercial Attaché stated.
The visit is part of a trade mission to the Principality of Asturias within the framework of the investment attraction agenda promoted by REDIEX and the Embassy of Paraguay in Spain, aimed at strengthening business relations and positioning the country as an attractive destination for European investments.
